Sparking Growth for a Local Residential & Commercial Electrician

This Salt Lake Valley electrical contractor had built years of technical expertise across EV charger installations, smart home automation, and full-service electrical repair, but was nearly invisible online. Without digital infrastructure, consistent leads were impossible to generate or measure. We built a conversion-focused website from the ground up and launched a 25-keyword SEO campaign that delivered Page-One rankings across 15 target keywords in just six months.

Project Overview

This Salt Lake Valley electrical contractor provides a high level of expertise across a broad spectrum of services, from emergency repairs to modern EV charger setups and smart home integrations. Despite their technical proficiency, their digital presence was not generating the volume of business required to support their long-term vision: scaling the team and expanding their fleet. They partnered with us to move beyond sporadic word-of-mouth and establish a reliable, search-driven lead engine across Sandy, Draper, Riverton, South Jordan, Herriman, and Salt Lake City.

The Challenge

The primary obstacle for this client was a lack of digital infrastructure and visibility. Their original online presence was effectively invisible to local homeowners and property managers searching for electricians in the area. To reach their goal of hiring more workers and growing the business, they needed a consistent, predictable flow of inquiries. Furthermore, with no baseline data to track performance, it was impossible to determine which services were actually driving interest or where the best opportunities existed.

Sparking Growth for a Local Residential & Commercial Electrician — Our Approach

Our Approach

Our strategy focused on a Foundation-First approach, combining high-performance web development with a targeted local SEO blitz.

  • UX & Conversion-Focused Web Development: We built a new website from the ground up, prioritizing user experience (UX) and mobile responsiveness. The site architecture was specifically optimized to funnel visitors toward high-value service requests like EV charger installs and home electrical inspections.
  • Targeted Keyword Campaign: In September 2025, we launched a specialized 25-keyword SEO package designed to capture high-intent local searches such as “electrician in Sandy” and “EV charger installation Draper.”
  • Local Authority Building: We focused on geographic signals across the South Salt Lake Valley to ensure the client appeared in “near me” searches across their full mobile service area.

Results

Six months into the SEO campaign, the results have provided the spark needed for expansion. 15 out of the 25 targeted keywords have reached the 1st page of Google. 4 high-intent keywords now rank at the #1 spot, making the client the definitive local choice for those services. Organic traffic has surged 52% over the last 3 months. The total number of ranking keywords for the domain increased by 77 (+49), widening the net for potential customers. This growth in traffic has directly translated into a significant uptick in phone calls and form submissions.

Takeaway

For skilled trades businesses, a website must be more than a digital business card; it must be a conversion tool. By pairing a high-performance website with a focused keyword strategy, we turned a stagnant digital presence into a growth-focused lead engine. Reaching #1 rankings for core services in just six months proves that even in a competitive home services market, the right technical foundation can facilitate rapid business scaling.

What’s Next?

With the organic foundation now delivering consistent results, we are preparing to launch a Google Ads (PPC) campaign. This “multi-lane” approach will use paid search to capture even more market share while SEO continues to provide long-term, low-cost lead volume.
