Salty Peaks is a Skateboard and Snowboard shop that has been in the Salt Lake City area for almost 40 years. They are known for carrying a large inventory and having all of the name brands that borders look for.

Project Overview

Building a new E-commerce store for the Salty Peaks team was a tall task simply due to the incredible amount of inventory that they carry. We wanted to created an easy to navigate store that had a smart search and easy checkout process. We also wanted to maintain a look and feel that would hold true to the nostalgia of the historic brick and mortar store in Salt Lake City.

The Challenge

The biggest challenge in this project was in getting the vast amounts of product inventory and multiple sources from which it originated to live cohesively in the online store. This took several different attempts and a few different approaches before getting it right. Luckily our amazing development team was able to make it all come together and bring this classic store to life.

Our Approach

Our approach on this project was to get all of the product data to live in one place and move that into the store in one piece, rather than trying to get product data to flow in from many different sources. This reduced the risk of having product feeds break and gave us reassurance that product data would be consistent for the client.

Results

In the end, Salty Peaks ended up being a really great showpiece store that the client is incredibly proud of. It really represents their brand and has created an effective sales channel for them and allows them to easily manage online orders and fulfill orders as they come in on a day to day basis. And, it looks great!
