Salt Lake City Gutter Contractor: SEO, PPC Case Study
Discover how geo-targeted SEO and conversion-focused UX updates drove a 128% surge in key conversion events for a Salt Lake City exterior contractor.
Project Overview
Specializing in complete residential exterior protection, this Salt Lake City based contractor offers end-to-end solutions spanning custom rain gutter installation (including seamless, copper, and gutter guard systems), siding (James Hardie, LP SmartSide, vinyl, and wood), roofing, soffit, fascia, and custom decks. Serving homeowners across the Salt Lake Valley, the company built a strong local reputation for quality craftsmanship. To turn their existing online traffic into active customer inquiries, they partnered with our agency to overhaul their core service pages, enhance AI search readiness, and maximize on-page lead conversions.
The Challenge
While the client had already established a foundational search presence and steady organic web traffic, their site suffered from a severe conversion bottleneck.
Prior to our onboarding, their digital ecosystem was limited by critical optimization gaps:
- Underperforming Service Page UX: Existing service pages failed to guide visitors toward taking action. Contact forms were buried, click-to-call functionality was absent, and users had to search through pages to request a quote.
- Unclaimed Local and AI Visibility: The site structural headings lacked explicit geographical targeting, leaving valuable local search volume untapped. Pages were also missing structured question and answer markup, preventing search engines and emerging AI answer engines from surfacing their content for hyper-local queries.
- Traffic-to-Lead Mismatch: Despite drawing relevant web traffic, the site was not converting visitors into phone calls or form submissions at a rate that reflected their real-world market position.

Our Approach
We deployed an intensive on-page optimization, technical SEO, and UX redesign framework across all 16 core service pages spanning three primary divisions: Rain Gutters, Siding, and Specialty Exterior Services.
- Geo-Targeted Structural Heading Refresh: We systematically overhauled the primary H1 tags across all 16 service pages, embedding high-intent, geo-targeted Salt Lake City search terms to align directly with localized consumer query patterns.
- Structured FAQ Schema Integration for AI Search: We authored custom, 250-word FAQ modules for each service page and implemented structured schema markup. This technical layer expanded page depth, improved local search relevance, and optimized the site for inclusion in AI-generated search overviews.
- High-Conversion Layout Overhaul: We redesigned the desktop and mobile page layouts to prioritize quick action. We elevated contact forms to prominent above-the-fold positions and implemented responsive click-to-call buttons across all mobile viewports to minimize user friction.
- Content and Authority Strategy: We established an ongoing content roadmap starting with targeted technical guides (such as micro-mesh gutter guard performance) to continuously pass authority to core commercial service pages.

Takeaway
