National Industrial Machinery Manufacturer: SEO, Web Development Case Study
See how targeted SEO and web development tripled organic keywords, increased traffic 24%, and earned #1 rankings for a national industrial machinery manufacturer.
Project Overview
Headquartered in Kenilworth, New Jersey, this specialized machinery manufacturer engineers industrial particle size reduction equipment designed to crush, grind, and de-lump materials across the biomass, food processing, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing sectors. Their flagship product line, including heavy-duty inline pipe crushers, compact size reduction units, high-speed hammer systems, and high-capacity fine mesh pulverizers, is backed by complimentary on-site material testing to ensure precise particle configurations. To expand beyond established sales channels and capture nationwide industrial buyers actively searching for processing machinery, the manufacturer partnered with our agency to construct an organic search engine from the ground up.
The Challenge
Despite manufacturing top-tier machinery for complex processing applications, the company possessed virtually zero organic search presence for its primary product lines.
Prior to our engagement, their online footprint was constrained by severe structural limitations:
- Near-Zero Non-Branded Organic Visibility: In late 2024, the client tracked under 10 total organic keywords. Core commercial search terms, such as "crusher manufacturer," "industrial food rendering crushers," and "pharmaceutical size reduction equipment," failed to rank anywhere in search results.
- Non-Existent Top-of-Funnel Pipeline: Because search engines were not indexing or ranking their core equipment categories, the company was completely invisible to prospective plant engineers and procurement teams actively sourcing size-reduction machinery online.
- Unused Content & Page Assets: Existing technical website pages lacked structural optimization, schema markup, and content depth required to signal authority to search engine algorithms and modern AI engines.

Our Approach
We executed a four-part Technical SEO, Web Development, and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) Strategy focused on maximizing page-level authority and capturing high-intent industrial search volume.
- Page-Level On-Page Optimization: Rather than relying solely on creating new pages, we systematically overhauled existing product and industry-specific landing pages, including the Pharmaceutical Industry and Particle Sizer pages, optimizing headings, body copy, and metadata for intent-matched industrial queries.
- Keyword Taxonomy & Structural Expansion: We built a comprehensive keyword tracking and mapping framework designed to elevate category terms (“crusher manufacturer”) and hyper-specific niche queries (“industrial food rendering crushers”) into indexable search silos.
- AI Search Engine Optimization (AEO): We structured technical page architectures and data formats to ensure content could be ingested by large language models and search engines, targeting citations in ChatGPT and Google AI Overviews.
- Core Technical Web Support: We provided ongoing web development to maintain site health, manage cookie tracking configurations, optimize page load speeds, and improve mobile UX across core product catalogs.
Results
The campaign achieved dramatic, broad-based improvements for an enterprise that initially possessed no measurable organic footprint, driving continuous traffic expansion and top-tier keyword placements.
- 24% Year-Over-Year Increase in Organic Sessions: Total organic website traffic grew from 1,058 to 1,315 sessions, while organic engaged sessions expanded by 20% (702 to 846). Overall site traffic climbed 25% year-over-year.
- Tripled Organic Keyword Inventory: Total tracked organic keywords expanded from under 10 in late 2024 to a peak of nearly 140 keywords by early 2026.
- From Unranked to #1 Industry Positions: Core product and application queries achieved dramatic rank improvements, including moving from Unranked (NA) to #1 for “industrial food rendering crushers” and from Unranked (NA) to #4 for “crusher manufacturer.”
- Deep Page-Level Keyword Mapping: The site’s homepage grew to rank for 11 distinct commercial keywords, while individual sub-pages, such as the Pharmaceutical Industry and Particle Sizer pages, captured rankings across 7 and 5 specific keywords respectively.
- Early AI Search Overview Inclusion: Four key pages earned direct citations as technical sources across AI search platforms (including 3 citations in ChatGPT and 1 in Google AI Overviews), establishing early momentum in conversational search visibility.

Takeaway
Heavy industrial manufacturers do not need massive content volume to capture high-value commercial leads. They need structural precision. By systematically optimizing existing technical product pages for intent-driven search queries and formatting content for AI search ingestion, specialized B2B OEMs can rapidly transform a non-existent search presence into a top-ranking growth asset.
What’s Next?
Our primary objective moving forward is pushing keywords currently sitting in the 4 to 10 and 11 to 20 ranking tiers directly into Top 3 positions. Additionally, we are accelerating our AEO initiative to secure direct brand mentions alongside URL citations within AI conversational platforms like ChatGPT and Google Gemini, while aligning content roadmaps with upcoming equipment releases and industry tradeshows.
