From Startup to Market Leader—Scaling a Mental Health Practice in South Jordan

From Startup to Market Leader—Scaling a Mental Health Practice in South Jordan

Services Used:

Project Overview

Our client is a South Jordan-based mental health practice dedicated to providing accessible, insurance-accepted care. Offering a hybrid model of in-person and telehealth services, they support a diverse patient base. When they launched in early 2025, they were a brand-new entity entering a highly competitive healthcare market, requiring a rapid and reliable way to connect with patients in need.

The Challenge

As a startup, the practice faced the classic "zero-baseline" hurdle: little to no online visibility, zero website traffic, and no consistent pipeline for new clients. Without immediate exposure, they couldn't fill session availability or validate their business model. To grow the clinical team and plan for the long term, they needed a digital engine that could generate qualified leads from day one.

Our Approach

We developed a hyper-localized Google Search strategy designed to capture high-intent users looking for immediate support.

  • Localized High-Intent Targeting: We built campaigns around “near me” searches and therapist-specific keywords within South Jordan, emphasizing “insurance-accepted” messaging to lower the barrier to entry for potential clients.
  • Service-Specific Expansion: As the initial campaigns stabilized, we expanded into niche keywords for teen and family therapy, as well as telehealth-specific terms to capture demand across the state of Utah.
  • Agile Budget Management: By continuously refining ad copy and keyword targeting, we prioritized cost efficiency. This allowed us to scale the budget in alignment with the clinic’s hiring phases, ensuring that new clinicians had full calendars as soon as they joined the team.
  • Competitive Dominance: We monitored local market share aggressively, optimizing the account to ensure our client maintained the #1 position among counseling centers in the South Jordan area.

Results

The campaign launched in January 2025 and immediately transformed the practice from a new startup into the local market leader.

Exceeding Growth Goals

While the client’s original goal was to acquire eight new clients per month, the campaigns consistently doubled that, frequently producing 15–20+ new clients per month.

Scaling Operations

Monthly session counts surged from 160 to over 200 sessions, directly resulting in the hiring of two additional clinicians to manage the demand.

Market Share Authority

Our digital strategy propelled the practice to become the #1 counseling center in South Jordan, outperforming all local competition in search visibility.

Statewide Expansion

The success of the PPC efforts gave the client the confidence and capital to expand their telehealth offerings, reducing their reliance on physical office space and unlocking a new revenue stream across the state.

Takeaway

For new healthcare practices, PPC is more than just an advertising tool—it is a business validator. By focusing on high-intent, localized searches and clear value propositions like insurance acceptance, we provided the steady lead flow necessary for the practice to scale its staff and physical footprint simultaneously.

Next Steps

As we continue our partnership, we are focusing on:

  • Telehealth Optimization: Refining targeting for statewide reaches to capitalize on the lower overhead of remote sessions.
  • Service Diversification: Expanding into new service-based and insurance-focused keywords as the practice adds specialized clinicians.
  • Predictive Scaling: Adjusting budgets and bid strategies to stay ahead of seasonal shifts in mental health demand, ensuring a consistent “floor” of 20+ new clients per month.
We got 20 new clients... Our goal was eight a month, and we surpassed that. I really like the way things are going... It’s exceeding my expectations. We’re hiring two new clinicians in January, so I really appreciate your help.
