From Ground Zero to Local Dominance for a Specialized Podiatry Practice

Services Used:

Project Overview

This bilingual podiatry practice serves a diverse patient base in Utah, offering specialized foot and ankle care. While the practice is led by a trusted, highly experienced podiatrist, their digital presence was essentially non-existent from a performance standpoint. Although they had a functional website, it lacked the technical and strategic foundation necessary to compete in the local healthcare market. We were brought in to transform this "digital business card" into a lead-generating asset.

The Challenge

We began this partnership at "ground zero." The primary obstacle was a total lack of search engine optimization; the site looked professional to a human eye but was invisible to search engines. Furthermore, the practice had two distinct goals:

  • Market Expansion: Maintaining their strong relationship with the local Hispanic community while successfully breaking into the English-speaking market.
  • Operational Stability: Growing the local patient volume in West Valley to ensure the practice remained busy enough to avoid the need for out-of-state expansion.

Our Approach

Our strategy focused on building Topical Authority through a hyper-local and culturally resonant lens.

  • Bilingual Search Strategy: Leveraging the practice’s unique ability to serve Spanish-speaking patients, we implemented a manual translation process. Rather than using automated tools, we collaborated with the team to ensure all new content reflected the doctor’s preferred terminology, allowing us to rank for high-intent Spanish search terms.
  • Service Page Expansion: We identified that the original site only highlighted three core services. We are currently building out a robust library of dedicated service pages to capture specific, long-tail searches for various podiatric conditions.
  • Pivoting for Performance: Early in the program, we tested programmatic advertising. When the data showed a lack of conversion, we demonstrated agility by immediately reallocating that budget into Local and Organic SEO, where we saw the highest potential for ROI.
  • UX & Authority Building: We implemented user experience (UX) fixes to improve the patient journey and launched a consistent blogging schedule to establish the doctor as a leading authority in Utah podiatry.

Results

Since transitioning the focus to organic and local SEO, the practice has seen a significant upward trajectory across all key performance indicators:

Explosive Search Growth

Month-over-month data from Google Search Console shows an 18% increase in impressions and a 35% increase in clicks.

Engagement Lift

We achieved a 14% increase in click-through rate (CTR), proving that our new content is resonating with the target audience.

Keyword Breakthroughs

We moved the site from zero rankings in the "Top 3" positions to its first stable Top 3 placement, with a significantly strengthened overall keyword profile on SEMrush.

Local Action

Clicks from the local map listing are up 10%, leading to a measurable rise in high-intent "key events" like click-to-call and click-to-email actions.

Market Diversification

Most notably, the practice has reported a visible increase in English-speaking patients, successfully expanding their market share beyond their initial niche.

Takeaway

For a micro-practice, digital visibility is the difference between local stability and forced expansion. By combining technical SEO with a culturally nuanced, bilingual content strategy, we proved that even a small practice can compete with larger clinics. The transition from “zero visibility” to a 35% increase in monthly clicks demonstrates that a foundation of organic authority is the most sustainable way to grow a specialty medical practice.

What’s Next?

Our next phase focuses on Service Density. We are continuing to build out specialized pages for advanced podiatry treatments to capture more specific search intent. Simultaneously, we are refining the website’s design and UX to ensure that as traffic grows, the conversion rate from “visitor” to “scheduled patient” remains optimized.
